On this occasion, we will have the pleasure of welcoming <strong>Yves Br\u00e9chet<\/strong> for an introductory lecture entitled &#8220;<em>The art of aging well for nuclear power plants<\/em>.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>SIRA Chair<\/strong> is a research partnership between Mines Saint-\u00c9tienne and the companies Framatome and EDF, winner of the &#8220;2024 Industrial Chairs&#8221; program of the French National Research Agency (ANR). The objective of the chair is to improve the understanding of intergranular embrittlement and aging of low-alloy steel components in nuclear reactors currently in service in France, particularly with a view to potentially extending the operating life of power plants beyond 60 years.
