{"id":7062,"date":"2024-11-07T12:14:30","date_gmt":"2024-11-07T11:14:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lgf.mines-stetienne.fr\/a-joint-laboratory-with-eenuee\/"},"modified":"2026-05-12T15:07:21","modified_gmt":"2026-05-12T13:07:21","slug":"a-joint-laboratory-with-eenuee","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lgf.mines-stetienne.fr\/en\/a-joint-laboratory-with-eenuee\/","title":{"rendered":"A joint laboratory with EENUEE"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mines Saint-Etienne, co-supervisor of the laboratory, and <a href=\"https:\/\/eenuee.com\/fr\/voyages-aeriens-electriques-accessibles-a-tous\/\">EENUEE<\/a>, a Saint-Etienne-based startup, are creating a joint laboratory supported by the ANR to develop low-carbon regional electric aviation: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/company\/labcom-disc-aer\">DISC-AER<\/a> (Decarbonization through the Industrialization of thermoplastic Composite Structures for Regional Electric Aviation): <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/company\/labcom-disc-aer\">DISC-AER<\/a> laboratory, joint to the SMS \/ LGF UMR CNRS 5307 center and the company <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eenuee.com\/\">EENUEE<\/a>, is among the winners of the 2024 <em>Labcom<\/em> program of the French National Research Agency (ANR). DISC-AER provides an ideal collaborative R&amp;D framework aimed at developing the completely innovative fuselage of the GEN-ee (patented aerodynamic envelope, -40% consumption), EENUEE&#8217;s 19-seat &#8220;flying wing&#8221; type regional electric transport aircraft. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The selection jury&#8217;s attention was captured by the introduction of the latest generation of composite materials (lightweight, recyclable, etc.) to create this unprecedented load-bearing fuselage. Indeed, the environmental impact of manufacturing the GEN-ee promises to be remarkably reduced, taking advantage of the modular design\/manufacturing (reduced tooling) of the aerostructures, their low-energy implementation (ambient temperature), their assembly\/disassembly (repair, autogenous welding), and the recyclability\/reuse of the materials (resin and fibers) used. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Over the 2024-2029 period, the \u20ac2M research program will involve 5 faculty members from MPE\/SMS and EENUEE&#8217;s rapidly growing R&amp;D teams.
