Additive manufacturing

The expertise of the Georges Friedel Laboratory lies in three fundamental areas: Materials, Mechanics and Processes. LGF research covers a broad and continuous field, ranging from processes for producing elementary constituents to processes for transforming materials (bulk or particulate) and products, and from the physicochemistry of interactions between materials and their environment to structural mechanics, using a multi-scale approach. LGF’s research activity could be summarised as: “Sustainability and energy efficiency of components and the factory…

Powder Technology

The Georges Friedel Laboratory has specialized for many years in the study of powders and granular media, particularly in the study of their behavior when subjected to thermal, chemical, or mechanical stress.

Surfaces and Interfaces

Surfaces and interfaces play a crucial role in materials science; they are present as concepts or physical objects in all four of our teams. This theme is organized around three main areas: the role of surfaces and interfaces in material durability; modeling the role of surfaces and interfaces in material processing techniques; and methodological developments.
