The instrumentation platforms comprise sets of experimental resources grouped by characterization types, and an internal service offering to support early-stage laboratory research activities, covering TRLs from 1 to 3.
Characterization of Microstructures and Surfaces (CMS)
This platform brings together characterization tools providing access to chemical, structural, and microstructural information on scales ranging from hundreds of microns down to the nanometer.
Physicochemical characterisation of powders (PC2)
This platform is used to characterise powder texture.
Spectroscopy and Chemical Analysis (SAC)
ICP spectrometry is a multi-element analysis technique (major, minor, and trace elements) with a detection limit in the order of ppb (µg/L). Measurements are conducted on different types of matrices: liquid solutions (water, brines) after adequate dilution; solid samples (natural or synthetic powders, rocks, plants) after alkaline fusion or acid dissolution.
Study of Solids by Thermal Micro-Analysis (ESMAT)
The platform is equipped with 14 high-tech devices to meet all requirements in thermal analysis and calorimetry. It is possible to monitor the behavior of solids, bulk materials, and powders subjected to controlled temperature and gas pressure conditions.
X-ray Analysis (XR)
Two techniques are represented: X-ray absorption tomography and X-ray diffraction on powders or bulk samples.
The technological and digital platforms (TRL 1 to 6).
Model Materials and Structures (MSM)
Brings together all resources for the development of model materials and structures for the LGF laboratory. Specifically, it possesses equipment for the production of high-purity metallic alloys, ceramic materials using innovative processes (additive manufacturing, microwave sintering...), and organic matrix structural composites through direct fabrication processes. In conjunction with the MSM platform, a metallography service offers microstructural characterization capabilities.
Sensors
SEM, TEM, XRD, thermal analysis, spectroscopic and chemical analysis (XPS, Raman, FTIR, ICP).
