The CMS platform brings together characterization equipment that provides access to chemical, structural, and microstructural information on scales ranging from hundreds of microns down to the nanometer. This platform offers high-performance analytical tools to support the laboratory’s research activities and expert requests from academic and industrial partners, particularly regarding material aging and damage (segregation/diffusion of trace elements in metals), material processing (microstructural evolution and recrystallization), local mechanical behavior, and the visual and tactile rendering of a surface.

This platform is operated by 3 engineers and 2 technicians.
