Coconut: A Corrosion-Resistant Coating for Storage Containers

The COCONUT project (COmposite COntainer for safe and durable NUclear wasTe storage) developed an alternative concept for high-level waste storage containers resistant to corrosion over very long periods. It brought together the French National Radioactive Waste Management Agency (ANDRA) and two public research laboratories: the LTDS at École Centrale de Lyon and the LGF at Mines Saint-Étienne.
