“Région AURA” AURABALL Project for Sergio Sao-Joao

Sergio Sao-Joao has obtained funding from the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region for the AURABALL project concerning the development of innovative solder balls for improving the reliability of electronic assemblies.

The AURABALL project aims to produce multi-material balls used for solder assembly of Ball Grid Array (BGA) packages in the electronics field. The main scientific objective is to develop a methodology for quantifying the mechanical properties of balls at the stress scale and at temperatures of interest through the use of dedicated micromechanical tools.
