Anna Fraczkiewicz, President of the SF2M

Anna Fraczkiewicz, Research Director at the Georges Friedel Laboratory (PMM Team) and former director of the laboratory (2009-2018), has the honor and responsibility of chairing the French Society for Metallurgy and Materials (SF2M) since June 2023, for a period of 2 years. This appointment follows a 2-year ‘learning period’ as vice-president and will be extended for an additional 2 years (2025-2027) as past-president.

The SF2M brings together nearly a thousand members. Although metallic materials constitute the core of its historical DNA, the society is interested in all materials and the broad themes associated with them. It is proud to ensure a good balance and collaborative links between the interests of its ‘academic’ and ‘industrial’ members.

Founded in 1945, the SF2M will celebrate its 80th anniversary in 2025.
