The FAB WAAM platform serving the researchers of the Georges Friedel Laboratory

École des Mines de Saint-Étienne has a WAAM facility based on instrumented TIG technology, enabling the fabrication of large-scale prototypes (TRL 3 to 9) and providing real-time manufacturing traceability. This facility has the particularity of being able to process all weldable metallic alloys, whether reactive or not. It also allows for deposits to be made on both sides of the substrate. The platform relies on the school’s mechanical characterization and microstructural analysis laboratories.
