Focus on digital materials

  • News

Digital materials cover all stages of a material’s life cycle, from its development to its use in various applications (energy, transport, etc.), through to its reuse or recycling. This theme lies at the heart of the processing–microstructure–properties triptych and plays an essential role in the discovery of new materials and the optimization of specific properties. It is one of the keys to improving energy efficiency and ensuring system safety.

This theme is at the core of the activities at the Georges Friedel Laboratory, which applies these methods to the development of new metallic alloys as well as composite materials and ceramics. This recognized expertise led to the writing of the Focus page in the latest INSIS newsletter for its laboratories.
